About Us
We originally created a Yoga site - YogaNearby.com because we wanted to find and practice yoga nearby to where we worked and lived. PilatesNearby.com works on exactly the same principle. We want to allow for potential pilates students to be able to find and easily locate a pilates class, workshop or holiday nearby to where they live or discover a pilates holiday on the other side of the world!
Why create www.pilatesnearby.com? We were finding it hard to easily locate a pilates class nearby to where we lived, there didn't seem to be a site that easily allowed us to find pilates classes nearby. The same applied to pilates workshops, or holidays near to locations all over the world, where we wished to practice pilates.
Our goal is to bring pilates to everyone, anywhere in the world, in an easy and convenient way. We encourage people to take up or continue with pilates, by allowing people to easily find all things pilates, be it a class, workshop or holiday. Allowing you to quickly view all pilates classes or workshops nearby to you, or plan a pilates holiday to an exotic part of the world.
Our 3 main aims are:

- » Allow teachers from all over the world to join us and to be part of this site.
- » Encourage our users to be involved in the development of this site, by communicating with us, while keeping our users up to date with site plans & developments.
We believe we can enable more people to take up pilates, by using an approach that brings together all pilates teachers, events & classes into one place. By integrating interactive maps we aim to highlight pilates locations all around the world, allowing for a unique way to view pilates locations nearby. Hopefully this will encourage more people to go along and begin practicing pilates.
