My name is Gina Easson and I am a fully qualified level 3 classical mat Pilates teacher. I have classes in Newport on Tay, Luthrie and Tayport and Cupar and Kingskettle, and Balmerino, Blebo Craigs, Gauldry, Fife . If I don't have a class that is within easy reach, let me know and I can look into starting a new one perhaps!

The Pilates Project has classes of up to 12 people as well as more private small groups and 1 to 1. I also offer online classes and outdoor classes during Covid.

Classical Pilates is a non modified, original form of Pilates. It takes many months of practice, teaching and study before the classical teacher can finally qualify. This includes an in depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology to allow the teacher to have a better understanding of how the body works.

The benefits to anyone doing regular classes include preventing back pain, correcting poor posture, building strength and stamina, improving coordination and balance and sculpting the abdominal area. Pilates can also correct imbalances and is extremely effective in addressing sciatica and lower back pain.

The classical method is for all ages and for anyone that is generally fit and able. It is safe for seniors, as its low impact on joints and is used by dancers and athletes looking for core strength and flexibility to prevent injury.

I have been interested in physical fitness for many years. I swam competitively from a young age and played tennis. After having children I suffered from back pain which was connected to poor core strength and was advised to try Pilates. The difference was amazing and I have never looked back.

I am a keen runner and like to cycle. I am very interested in diet and nutrition. I have a degree (MA) in food and welfare studies, which included health studies, nutrition, special diets and health promotion.
