In this class you will learn the techniques of aligning and relaxing the body while strengthening the core muscles by using the original Joseph Pilates basic movements. The best part is that it’s easy to get started, even for total beginners. Wear comfortable loose clothing and grippy socks or bare feet.

After spending 20 years working in an office, I found that the part of the day I enjoyed most – was my trip to the gym or the park to exercise and so, I decided the time was right to have a complete change of career. A couple of hard years studying and all the exams later, I finally qualified as a Fitness Instructor / Pilates Teacher in 2003.
I started Gently Fit when I moved down to Aldwick in May 2004 and since then have been passionate in educating and passing on the benefits of low impact exercise, especially the subtle movements of Pilates that are so effective in producing profound long term and sometimes life changing results.
Having built up a following of local clients, I now run several group sessions and offer a one to one personal training service if required.
The best and most gratifying part of my job is seeing the improvement that Pilates can produce in people who have suffered with joint and/or muscular pain. To witness the transition from “unflexible and weak” to “mobile and strong” is, to me, the ultimate in job satisfaction. I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else and consider myself lucky to have found “the best job in the world” – helping people.
